The Mathematics Division at Henry Ford Community College is a
service division dedicated to providing a quality mathematics
experience to all students.
Our mission is three-fold. We strive
to provide the necessary mathematical foundation for those students
whose incoming background is insufficient to succeed at
collegiate-level mathematics, to provide courses equivalent to the
first two years of a traditional undergraduate mathematical
sequence, and to provide a series of specialty courses for those
students whose career plans require a more customized experience.
The teachers within the Mathematics Division are committed to the
use of numerical, graphical, symbolic, and verbal models for the
representation and solution of mathematical problems. Through these
multiple approaches, along with the use of appropriate technology,
students should increase their mathematical skills, enhance their
abilities to think quantitatively, solve mathematical problems
effectively, and judge the reasonableness of their results. |
