Tutorials In American English, almost everyone slaughters pronouns in informal conversation. Listen closely, and you'll even hear an English teacher flub. In casual conversation, it is more or less acceptable to say, "Hey, look. Someone parked their car in the learning lab." In written English, however, it is preferable to say, "Someone parked HIS car in the learning lab." We speak one way; we write another.
